Shadwal Gau Upashray, inaugurated on 30th October 2024 by Lumbaram Choudhary, Member of Parliament, is a sanctuary that celebrates the spiritual, cultural, and ecological significance of cows while fostering community involvement and compassion. Rooted in the principles of Jainism and Indian culture, it embodies non-violence, respect, and sustainable practices, creating a harmonious bond between humans and nature. The name "Shadwal," inspired by the Hindi word for "lush greenery," reflects a commitment to nurturing life and sustainability, even within Rajasthan's arid climate. This sanctuary serves as a haven where cows are cherished and protected, embodying growth, care, and vitality in a space dedicated to community well-being and ecological harmony.
This initiative embodies our deep personal commitment rooted in Jain values of compassion and respect for all life. At SHADWAL GAU UPASHRAY, we provide a sanctuary that exemplifies these principles in action, fostering a profound connection between our community and the cherished animals in our care. Beyond offering physical comfort and nourishment, our cafe is a testament to our dedication to ahimsa, promoting harmonious coexistence between humans and animals. It reflects our vision of creating a more compassionate world where every living being, regardless of species, is valued and treated with kindness and empathy. Through this endeavor, we strive to inspire others to embrace similar values of care and respect towards all creatures, contributing to a more harmonious and empathetic society.
We actively invite community members and volunteers to participate in caring for the cows, fostering a spirit of compassion, service, and togetherness. Rooted in the ethical principles of Jainism and Indian culture, this initiative embodies kindness, sustainability, and harmony with nature, serving as a model of care and coexistence.
