The Mirpur Jain Temple, dating back to the 9th century AD, stands as a testament to ancient Jain architecture in Rajasthan. Located approximately 30 kilometers from Kalandri in Sirohi, it is believed to be the oldest marble monument in the region. The temple faced destruction by Mahmud Begada in the 13th century but was resiliently rebuilt and renovated in the 15th century. Within its sacred walls are inscriptions dating as far back as 1162 AD, recounting the history of Hamirgarh. Today, the temple showcases seven inscriptions spanning from the 12th to the 15th century, with the latest dating back to the 19th century, offering a glimpse into its enduring historical and cultural significance.
Shree Pavapuri Tirth, nestled near Kalandri in Sirohi, is distinguished by its main temple housing the majestic 69-inch tall marble idol of Shree Shankheshwar Parshwanath. Constructed by the KP Sanghvi Group, the temple's construction spanned from May 1998 to February 2001, culminating in its inauguration for worship. The temple stands as a testament to devotion and craftsmanship, attracting visitors with its serene ambiance and spiritual sanctity. It serves as a cultural and religious hub, inviting devotees and travelers to immerse themselves in its rich heritage and profound spirituality. Adjacent to the temple, the complex also houses an expansive Animal Welfare Center established in 1998. Covering over 7,000,000 sq ft (650,000 m2), the center provides care and shelter to more than 5000 stray cattle, supported by a dedicated team of over 150 staff members and veterinary experts.
The Jirawala Jain Temple, home to an 18 cm high white idol of Bhagawan Parshvanath in Padmasana posture, has a rich history dating back 2,800 years. From 506 CE to 1324 CE, Jirawala was a significant Jain center, patronized by various Jain Acharyas. The temple has undergone multiple renovations throughout its history, with the latest restoration and installation completed in 2020, ensuring its continued significance as a spiritual and cultural landmark.
