At Ujwala Farm, we are committed to empowering the youth of our village by providing them with opportunities to excel in various sports. Our latest initiative focuses on harnessing the potential of young talent, starting with tennis. We have established two top-notch tennis courts at Ujwala Farm, offering free training to village kids who show an interest in the sport
Ramesh Shah initiated a project aimed at discovering and nurturing young athletes in various sports. The primary focus is on tennis, but the initiative will expand to include other sports as well. Our mission is to provide these children with dedicated training, enabling them to excel and, in turn, train others in their community.
Selected children from the village will be sent to Sunil Noah's sports center in Bangalore for one month of intensive training, fully sponsored by Ramesh Shah. This program aims to equip them with the skills and knowledge necessary to become proficient athletes and coaches. Upon completion of their training, these young athletes will return to Ujwala Farm, where they will teach and mentor other village kids. This peer-to-peer training model ensures a sustainable and ongoing development of sports talent within the community.
Recently, two promising young athletes, Pintu and Rakesh, were the first to benefit from our initiative. During his visit to Kalandari, Sunil Noah, a renowned tennis player from Bangalore, noticed their potential. Recognizing their talent and dedication, Ramesh Shah, our patron, decided to sponsor their training in Bangalore. For two months, Pintu and Rakesh trained under Sunil Noah at his sports center, honing their skills and preparing to bring their newfound expertise back to their village.
To support this initiative, we are launching a sports scholarship program. This program will identify and sponsor talented children, providing them with the resources and opportunities they need to excel. The scholarship covers training, equipment, travel, and accommodation expenses, ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder their progress
This initiative not only aims to develop sports talent but also to generate employment opportunities for the youth. As these trained athletes begin to coach others, they will be employed as sports trainers at Ujwala Farm. This creates a cycle of empowerment, where skilled individuals contribute to the community's development while securing their livelihoods.
Looking ahead, we plan to expand the sports initiative to include other disciplines such as football, athletics, and more. We will continue to collaborate with top coaches and sports centers to provide the best training for our village kids.
